Kyle's Farm Animals 1st Birthday Cake

Big boy Kyle turned 1 last weekend.

His parents asked for a farm animals themed cake...
...because Kyle really likes Galinha / Pintinho Amarilinho
(Portuguese/Brazilian kid TV chracter):
Galinha is actually sitting on the yummiest banana mud cake ever!
Kyle's mum had a clever idea to have a mini-cake for cake-smashing
on top of the main cake that was to be served to guests.
 Kyle's last name is Macdonald.

Kyle Macdonald had a farm... E I E I O!
And on that farm he had a duck... E I E I O!
And on that farm he had a cow... moo!
And on that harm he had a horse... Neigh!
And on that farm he had a pig... oink!
E I E I O!

Had to share this photo of Kloé-cake being so enthralled by Kyle's cake.
She talks to all the figurines we make... LOL!
Kloé-cake got to be at Kyle's party too.
Kyle's mum & Aunties made some cupcakes
to go on the tower along with the cake.
Kyle's mum said it was the best chocolate mud cake she's ever had in NZ!
Why thank you! :)

Thank you, Macdonald family, for joining us in this sugary-sweet journey.

Keisha's Ballerina 4th Birthday Cake

Keisha does ballet and loves it!
Her doting parents have fully supported her in this interest of hers.
So it's only fitting that she has a ballerina cake for her party.

Meet Keisha:
Keisha knew what she wanted, clever little girl!
She wanted purple & pink, lots of flowers and butterflies.

She also asked for the cake to be quite colourful.
Anything for the birthday girl :)

We love that we get to be part of the celebrations too.
It's always such a buzz when we get to see people's faces
as they take their first bite of the cake. :)

Thank you, Keisha and family for joining us
in this sugary-sweet journey!

TJ & Love's Beach Themed Wedding Cake

Well, the time has come, they are finally officially Mr. & Mrs!

They are easily one of our favourite clients.
They fully trusted us and allowed us room for creativity,
and we surely made the most of the opportunity in every way possible.

The cake sans topper: they asked to have a nice calm colour scheme.
NICE & calm it is...
... just like the beautiful white sand of Omaha beach where they said their vows.
It doesn't show as much on the photo above, but the close ups show the pearl luster dust
covering the entire cake and every little corner of it.
No matter if it took us hours to glue each individual sugar pearl onto the fondant,
it was well worth every minute of it!
Especially sweet when the venue manager complimented the cake as being
the most beautiful cake she's ever seen. Now isn't that something?

Their cake topper: hand crafted with love & resembling the couple
and their wedding attire in a light-hearted fashion...
The story is that they fell in love while TJ was teaching Love how to drive
in her blue '98 Corolla Ceres...
In a previous blog, TJ proposed to Love by way of a
turtle cake topper. Of course there had to be a turtle or two in their wedding cake:
Some more photos of the cake for you to feast your eyes on:
The first tier was creamy chocolate mud cake with chocolate ganaché.
The top tier was white chocolate mud cake with white chocolate ganaché.
And now with the newly weds:

TJ & Love,
It has been a pleasure being part of your journey.
We look forward to many more celebrations as you face the future together.
Thank you for joining us in this sugary-sweet journey!

Our Kloé-cake turned 6 months!

Wow, our little baby is not so little anymore.
She recently turned 6 months old, and she's crawling all over the place already!

As has been our custom since her first month birthday, we celebrated with some beautiful baking. This time we returned to the hospice and delivered 26 delicious cupcakes for 26 wonderfully blessed weeks of our Kloé-cake's life.

That's 13 zesty lemon cupcakes with vanilla buttercream and raspberry topping...

And 13 coconut cream cakes with vanilla buttercream and caramel topping.

Such a joy to be able to pay it forward.

Thank you for joining us in this sugary-sweet journey!
